Biography

Laura Broussard is a Nurse Educator in the Elizabeth & Thomas Rankin School of Nursing at St. Francis Xavier University. A proud StFX alumna, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours in 2017. Laura earned her Master of Nursing in 2022 with a focus on teaching and healthcare leadership from Dalhousie University.

Laura’s clinical experience spans medical-surgical and psychiatric-mental health nursing. Her passion for mental health and dedication to lifelong learning led her to complete the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Program through the Registered Nurses Professional Development Centre (RNPDC). Laura also became CNA Certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing to strengthen her ability to deliver safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental nursing care to individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges in her practice.

Laura teaches in various settings, including mental health clinical placements, Simulation & skills labs, and overseeing fourth-year placements. Through her education and clinical expertise, she strives to create a supportive learning environment that prepares students to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the communities they serve.
