Emilie Maine
Dr. Emilie Maine is a queer educational researcher and teacher. Her research focuses on queer and trans embodied epistemologies. She’s invested in the knowledge that is created and employed by 2SLGBTQ+ people living in places they are not usually imagined to be living (rural, northern, and conservative communities).
As a critical feminist scholar, she facilitates courses focused on inclusion and diversity, critical pedagogies, feminist and queer theory, and transformative learning practices.
She earned both her PhD in Educational Research in Adult Learning and her Master of Arts in Educational Research in Curriculum and Learning from the University of Calgary.
